Several highly talented soccer players have contracts that expire in the summer of 2023. This leaves room for free transfers to occur. When a player’s contract has expired or is about to, players can transfer from one club to another without the new club paying the old club a transfer fee. Here are some talented players to keep an eye on.

Lionel Messi 

The 35-year-old plays as a forward for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and captains Argentina’s national team. Messi helped Argentina win the 2022 FIFA World Cup and may soon become a free agent. His contract with PSG ends this summer, but the sporting director for Paris Saint-Germain is negotiating to extend Lionel Messi’s contract. PSG had intended to advance contract talks with the Argentinian captain earlier this month. However, rumors suggest that contract negotiations have become more complicated following Argentina’s victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Karim Benzema

Karim is a French pro soccer player who plays for Real Madrid in La Liga and serves as its captain. Benzema is recognized as one of the greatest strikers of all time. He is second place for all-time in goals scored and assists for Real Madrid. Karim has amassed 23 trophies, including five UEFA Champions League championships, two Copa del Reys, and four La Liga championships. Even at 35, he continues to lead the league in goal-scoring. Karim is anticipated to serve Real Madrid’s driving force for at least one more season. 

Daichi Kamada

Daichi Kamada is a Japanese professional soccer star who competes for the Japan national team and Eintracht Frankfurt as an offensive midfielder or striker. Kamada started for Japan in the World Cup and gained notoriety with goals in the Champions League against Spurs, Marseille, and Sporting Lisbon. According to reports from Germany, Spurs were satisfied enough with him to extend a contract offer.

Raphael Guerreiro

Adelino Rafael Soccer player José Guerreiro ComM represents Portugal’s national team and Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund as a left-back or a midfielder. He started his career at Caen before joining Lorient and making his Ligue 1 debut. Raphael next joined Borussia Dortmund. The club has opted not to extend his contract. There have been links to both Tottenham and Newcastle for Raphael moving forward.

Konrad Laimer

He is an Austrian midfielder competing for the Austrian national team and the Bundesliga club RB Leipzig. He has been linked with Chelsea, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich. He will undoubtedly sign with Bayern.
